I’m sure you’ve probably seen the commericals on TV offering a free credit report just by logging on to their website.Â
Not too many companies can advertise on TV by giving something away for free that most other companies charge for.
The same is the case with free credit reports. You’ll usually be enrolled in some type of program, sometimes credit monitoring, that charges a monthly fee.
If you don’t cancel within the first 30 days, you’re going to get charged.
As long as you’re diligent you can get a free copy of your report, just remember to cancel before your 30 days are up.
But, most people fail to do so and that’s when they wind up with unexpected charges on their credit card. And that’s when they start getting upset. But it’s all there in the fine print.
There’s no free lunch.
