Why does it take so long for your credit score to go back up?

Why does it take so long to improve a credit score
and only one bad comment to bring it down?

Ms. Cunningham answered: A credit score is a compilation of many
different factors, each of which is assigned a different weight. Thus, one
negative comment in an important area can indeed affect the score, while one bad
comment in a less important area may hardly be noticed at all.

Since the credit score is so important to our financial health, I suggest
that all consumers not only know their score, but understand the components
involved in calculating it.

One of the many free education classes offered by CCCS Dallas is a Credit Fix
Mix Up course where you’ll receive concrete steps on how to improve your credit
score.Â
